Independent Purchase Due Diligence for Yacht Buyers

Our job is to make it easier for a buyer to obtain independent, documented information about a yacht’s condition before committing a large amount of money.

What InspectMyYacht does

InspectMyYacht helps yacht buyers find independent marine surveyors near the vessel before completing a purchase. We are not a surveyor, a broker or a charter company, and we do not carry out surveys ourselves.

You tell us where the yacht is lying and what kind of survey you need. We identify independent professionals near the vessel and put suitable options in front of you. You appoint whoever you choose, directly.

How we research local facts

City pages carry two categories of information, and we keep them visibly separate. Educational content explains how surveys generally work. Local factual data — haul-out facilities, travel lift capacities, vessel dimension limits, survey and haul-out pricing, marinas and seasonality — is researched per location and published only with a source and a verification date.

  • Facility specifications are taken from the operator's own published information wherever possible, and cross-checked against a second reference where available.
  • Travel lift capacities and maximum vessel dimensions are recorded per facility, each with its own source, because different figures come from different sources.
  • Pricing is collected from published rate information and documented market references, and is always published with a data year and a verification date.
  • Seasonality claims are only published where they can be tied to a verifiable reference such as event dates or operator information.
  • Where a value has not been verified, the page shows a visible data placeholder rather than an estimate, and the page stays out of the index.

How often information is reviewed

Every local dataset carries its own last-verified date, and each city page shows when its local data was last reviewed as a whole. Facility specifications and pricing change, so a figure without a date is not useful to a buyer making a purchase decision.

Corrections

If you operate a facility and our published specification is wrong or out of date, or you spot an error anywhere on the site, contact us with the correct information and a reference. We will verify it, update the entry and update the verification date.

What we do not publish

  • Invented or estimated facility specifications, capacities or prices
  • Surveyor listings, ratings, reviews or certifications we cannot verify
  • Company statistics, awards or claims about a partner network we do not have
  • Guarantees about safety, defect detection or financial protection

Expertise signals we rely on today

We do not publish a technical reviewer profile until a genuine practising marine surveyor takes on that role. Until then, competence is demonstrated through source transparency: visible source links, per-dataset verification dates, a documented research methodology, and a clear separation between verified local facts and general educational content.
